Software for reinsurance brokers that want to grow with control
The platform that understands reinsurance
Contracts and facultative business — proportional and non-proportional — with accounts, collections, claims and reports on one platform. Built from real reinsurance operations, not adapted from generic software.
Illustrative data. Representative Smart-RE screens.
The challenge
The problem is not reinsurance: it is growing without losing control
As a broker grows, operational complexity increases, so does dependence on key people, and so does the difficulty of consolidating reliable information. Smart-RE structures the operation so that growth does not become a source of risk.
Dependence on people
Operational knowledge lives in a few people and in personal files.
Scattered information
Contracts, accounts and claims spread across different spreadsheets and folders, hard to consolidate.
Lack of visibility
It is hard to answer quickly how much has been placed, what is pending and where the risk is.
What changes with Smart-RE
More operational visibility
Contracts, facultative business, accounts and claims on one platform, with indicators by line, cedent and month.
Greater traceability
Each deal keeps its addenda, accounts and activities, and the information lives in one place, organized and ready to share with cedents, reinsurers and regulators.
Faster processes
Up to 40% less time on facultative operations and 90% less on quarterly accounts.
Lower operational risk
A standardized operation with controlled access and security treated as a continuous process.
Specialization
Built from the business, not adapted to it
A generic ERP forces reinsurance vocabulary into modules that don't understand it. Smart-RE starts from the real operation: facultative and proportional/non-proportional contracts, cessions, commissions, claims — with the same logic a broker already works with.
Domain expertise
More than 20 years serving insurance and reinsurance brokers in Ecuador, including the country's largest brokerages.
In real production
Not a conceptual platform: it runs today in production with active brokers, processing real reinsurance business.
Continuous evolution
Every new module responds to a real operational need in the sector, not a generic software roadmap.
Experience that evolved with the business
Sibrok-SE was born in 1999 for insurance brokers. Sibrok-RE evolved it in 2007 for reinsurance. Smart-RE is the active generation, in continuous development since 2019 — not a new product with no track record behind it.
SaaS model
A clear model of who carries what
Under a SaaS model, the operation doesn't manage servers, licensing, or backups. Smart-RE carries the platform so the broker's team can focus on the business.
Your team focuses on
- Running the reinsurance business
- Relationships with cedants and reinsurers
- Placement and underwriting decisions
Smart-RE carries
- Server infrastructure
- Technology stack licensing
- Backups, recovery, and monitoring
- Security patches and updates
This distribution of responsibilities is documented as part of the service contract, not an informal promise.
Security
Security as an ongoing process, not a state
A platform's security isn't solved once — it's sustained. Smart-RE runs under a continuous cycle of updates and controls.
Strong authentication
Two-factor authentication with strict validation on both the interface and the server.
Access control
Temporary lockout and progressive delay against unauthorized access attempts.
Periodic code analysis
Static and dynamic review to identify and correct technical debt before it becomes a risk.
Data always yours
Encryption at rest for sensitive data; data ownership always belongs to whoever operates the platform.
The operation belongs to the organization
Smart-RE helps keep operational knowledge in the platform rather than depending on specific individuals: every deal, contract, account and claim retains its traceability.
Regional scope
A local base, a responsible expansion
Smart-RE was born and operates in Ecuador. That base is the starting point for a regional expansion built market by market — not on the assumption that regulations are the same everywhere.
Every new market is preceded by a specific regulatory review — tax, data protection, reinsurance intermediation — before going live. Smart-RE's architecture is designed to adapt to those frameworks, not to assume they're identical across countries.
AENTHOS, Smart-RE's official distributor across LATAM, supports that country-by-country expansion. The roadmap also contemplates operating under international structures for clients with cross-border intermediation needs.

Technical detail
Technical and service detail
The essentials are already above. This section is for those who need the detail before moving forward.
How quickly are incidents handled?
Every incident is classified by severity, with defined and verifiable response and resolution times — from total service unavailability to a minor operational query. Support channels are differentiated by criticality, and platform availability is reported periodically.
| Severity | Response | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Critical | Minutes to 1 hour | Hours |
| High | Hours | Under 24 hours |
| Medium | Business hours | Business days |
| Low | Business days | Up to 5 business days |
How is the platform built, and how does it evolve?
Smart-RE separates presentation, business logic and data, and is organized by functional areas. That lets the platform evolve without being rewritten. Things like high availability with active replicas or more complex distributed architectures are added when real operating volume justifies them, not before: it avoids cost and complexity that would add no value today. That is why we talk about a modernization roadmap with clear activation criteria, not promises of “everything from day one”.
How does Smart-RE connect to other systems?
Smart-RE does not impose protocols or vendors. It connects through REST APIs with what the broker already uses or prefers: digital signature, geolocation, exchange rates, accounting ERPs, corporate data services. The technology decision stays with the client. When data needs to flow out to the broker’s own systems, the most suitable mechanism is defined with their IT team: an on-demand API or a periodic extract. Each integration is assessed case by case.
How long does implementation take?
A standard implementation takes approximately one month, depending on scope and the quality of the starting data. It includes platform installation and configuration, data migration with a quality review, load and operational testing, user and profile setup, and team training. The final timeline is agreed with each organization.
Where does the data live, and how is it backed up?
Smart-RE is offered as a cloud service. The hosting provider is chosen to match the security level and IT guarantees each organization requires. Information is backed up periodically.
What documentation can your IT team review?
For your organization's technical evaluation we make available, under a confidentiality agreement, documentation on architecture, the SaaS responsibility split, service levels and security practices. If your IT team has its own questionnaire, we will answer it.
